Frozen Bananas: Creamy Banana Genetics with Frost for the Wash

Frozen Bananas is our newest release, and it arrives in two versions at once. Frozen Bananas F1 is a feminized F1 hybrid that flowers on the light cycle, and Frozen Bananas Auto F1 is its autoflowering sister, built to finish on its own clock.
Both start from the same idea, a cross of Cookies & Cream and Banana Punch that tastes of ripe banana, vanilla and cream and covers its buds in resin. Below, we lay out what each version offers, how the two differ and which one suits your space and season.
Key takeaways
- Frozen Bananas crosses Cookies & Cream with Banana Punch for creamy banana, vanilla and pine notes.
- The feminized F1 reaches 25% THC and flowers in 56 to 62 days, with outdoor harvests in early October.
- Its autoflowering version, Frozen Bananas Auto F1, reaches 22% THC and runs 70 to 80 days from seed to harvest.
- Both versions sit in our hash-washable collection and suit bubble hash and dry sift work.
- Each version comes in packs of 3, 5, 10 and 25 seeds.
Two versions, side by side
Frozen Bananas comes as Frozen Bananas F1, a feminized photoperiod plant that flowers when the light cycle changes, and Frozen Bananas Auto F1, which crosses Frozen Bananas with our BF Super Auto #1. Both are 60% indica and 40% sativa, and their growing data compares like this:
| Growing detail | Frozen Bananas F1 | Frozen Bananas Auto F1 |
|---|---|---|
| Genetics | Cookies & Cream x Banana Punch | Frozen Bananas x BF Super Auto #1 |
| Seed type | Feminized F1 hybrid | Autoflowering F1 hybrid |
| THC | 25% | 22% |
| Timing | 56 to 62 days of flowering | 70 to 80 days from seed to harvest |
| Indoor height | 100 to 120 cm | 90 to 110 cm |
| Indoor yield | 600 to 650 g/m² | 450 to 500 g/m² |
| Outdoor height | 120 to 180 cm | 100 to 140 cm |
| Outdoor yield | Up to 1,500 g per plant | 150 to 220 g per plant |

The feminized F1 is the bigger, higher-yielding plant, and outdoors it finishes in the first or second week of October. The auto stays more compact, needs no change in light at any stage and, outdoors, can run more than one cycle during the warm months.
The cross behind the cream
Cookies & Cream brought dessert flavor and dense resin to the cross, and Banana Punch added a complex tropical fruit profile and a strong physical effect. The name describes the result, cool, creamy and full of fruit.
Both versions are F1 hybrids. In genetics, an F1 hybrid is the first filial generation of offspring from two distinctly different parent types. When both parent lines are stable, the offspring come out uniform, with a combination of traits from each parent, which is the whole point of an F1 cross. Across our grow rooms, the clearest sign of a good F1 is an even crop, with plants from one pack finishing at similar heights and on a similar schedule. The auto version adds our BF Super Auto #1 to Frozen Bananas. It keeps the flavor and resin of the feminized plant and drops the need to manage the light.

Start a QuizFrost for the wash
Our tagline for this release is "creamy banana, frost for the wash," and the second half is for hash makers. By harvest, trichome coverage on Frozen Bananas F1 is exceptional, and its resin makes it a strong candidate for bubble hash, rosin and dry sift. The auto's resin production is exceptional for an autoflower and more than enough for bubble hash and dry sift work. Both versions belong to our hash-washable collection, where we put a good washing return at 4% or more by weight, with top performers pushing toward 7%.
Frost is the visible part of that resin. The crystals on a bud are resin glands called trichomes, and large ones store more oil and are easier to catch in the filter bags of an ice-water wash. We have found that a plant this frosty rewards a careful harvest, since rough handling knocks trichome heads off before they ever reach the ice. Have your bags, ice and press ready before the plants finish.
The unexamined day is a wasted opportunity. Reflect on what you did, what you learned, and how you can improve.

Aroma, flavor and effect
Ripe, creamy banana leads the aroma, a clean pine note cuts through underneath and an earthy base keeps the sweetness grounded. On the inhale, creamy banana comes first and vanilla adds warmth, with earthy notes on the exhale. The two versions share that profile almost note for note, with only a few small differences:
| Sensory profile | Frozen Bananas F1 | Frozen Bananas Auto F1 |
|---|---|---|
| Taste | Banana, creamy, earthy, sweet, tropical, vanilla | Creamy banana, earthy, sweet, tropical |
| Aroma | Banana, creamy, earthy, fruit, pine | Banana, creamy, pine, tropical |
| Reported effects | Balanced, euphoric, happy, relaxing, uplifting | Euphoric, happy, relaxing, uplifting |
| Sensory profile | Taste | Aroma | Reported effects |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frozen Bananas F1 | Banana, creamy, earthy, sweet, tropical, vanilla | Banana, creamy, earthy, fruit, pine | Balanced, euphoric, happy, relaxing, uplifting |
| Frozen Bananas Auto F1 | Creamy banana, earthy, sweet, tropical | Banana, creamy, pine, tropical | Euphoric, happy, relaxing, uplifting |
Smokers commonly report euphoria and a happy, uplifted mood first, with body relaxation building gradually while the mind stays clear. Effects vary from person to person, and no specific effect is guaranteed. From our own harvests, a slow dry and a full cure protect the banana and vanilla top notes best, and the auto’s flavor improves noticeably with a proper cure.
Growing notes for each version
The two versions share a flavor but not a growing style, so each gets its own notes.
Frozen Bananas F1
The feminized F1 grows to a structured, medium height with a lateral canopy and dense, heavy colas. Its strain page rates it a cooperative, productive plant for growers beyond their first few seasons, and these habits get the most from it:
- Keep daytime temperatures between 20°C and 26°C (68°F to 79°F).
- Bring humidity down to 40% to 50% in late flower to lower the risk of mold.
- Feed moderately through veg, then add light boosts of phosphorus and potassium in flower.
- Watch the trichomes turn from clear to milky white, with some amber, as the 56- to 62-day finish approaches.
- Outdoors, give each plant room and a warm season, and plan to harvest in the first or second week of October.
Frozen Bananas Auto F1
The auto keeps a tidy, compact frame that suits a grow tent, handles moderate swings in temperature and humidity well and resists pests better than more delicate varieties. Like any autoflower, it moves into the flowering stage based on age instead of light, so it needs no light-cycle change at any point. Its strain page recommends a simple routine:
- Start gentle low-stress training early in the cycle to open the plant to light.
- Use selective defoliation if the buds grow very dense or the room runs humid.
- Keep nitrogen moderate early, then raise phosphorus and potassium slightly as the flowers stack.
- Add Cal-Mag in coco or hydro systems, and avoid heavy feeding late in bloom to keep the flavor clean.
- Harvest at 70 to 80 days from seed, once most trichomes are milky with some amber.
Which version fits your grow
In our experience, the choice comes down to space, season and patience:
- Choose Frozen Bananas F1 for the biggest yields, full control of the light indoors or a long, warm outdoor season.
- Go with Frozen Bananas Auto F1 for a small tent, a short summer or more than one harvest in a season.
- Either one suits hash makers, since both carry the resin our hash-washable collection is built around.
Packs and new arrivals
Both versions sell in packs of 3, 5, 10 and 25 seeds, so a first run can stay small and a proven favorite can scale up. Until planting day, keep the seeds in a cool, dark, airtight container, ideally in the fridge but, despite the name, never in the freezer, and germinate them at 70°F to 90°F (21°C to 32°C). Frozen Bananas joins a busy season of releases, so keep an eye on new arrivals at Barney's Farm for what comes next.
One strain, two ways to grow it
Frozen Bananas brings creamy banana, vanilla and pine from a Cookies & Cream and Banana Punch cross, with resin made for the wash. The feminized F1 offers 25% THC, a 56- to 62-day flowering time and the bigger harvests, while the Auto F1 offers 22% THC and a 70- to 80-day run from seed with no light changes. Pick the one that fits your space and your season, and have the ice ready.
