Mimosa Evo Grow Report

In 2020, Barney’s Farm added a noteworthy member to its famed Cali Collection – Mimosa Evo, an entrant in the cannabis industry. Born from a hybrid of Clementine and Purple Punch by Symbiotic Genetics, Mimosa has already made a name for itself in the United States.

Barney’s Farm, however, has taken the original Mimosa and given it an exciting twist, hence the term “Evo” for evolution.

By incorporating their own Orange Punch genetics, Barney’s Farm has transformed Mimosa into a citrus powerhouse of a strain! Its delightful, zesty profile promises a harmonious medley of orange and lemon, underlined by a hint of berry-like sweetness.

Aromatically, Mimosa Evo introduces an exotic fruit salad of tangerines and other tropical delights.

Beyond its charismatic scent, this indica-dominant (60%) strain offers impressive yields of up to 700 g/m2 indoors, even stretching its limits under optimal conditions.

The THC levels average around an impressive 24-26%, but skilled growers can aim for a staggering 30%. Indoor growth requires 65-70 days of flowering, culminating in generously resin-coated buds.

Outdoors, Mimosa Evo towers between 200-220 cm, reaching maturity in early October and potentially yielding more than two kilos per plant. Barney’s Farm rates its grow difficulty at a comfortable 2 out of 5.

Despite its powerful potency, Mimosa Evo offers an energetic, euphoric, and simultaneously soothing effect, making it an appealing daytime smoke – of course, moderation is key if you have to navigate complex tasks.

Cultivating Mimosa Evo: A Firsthand Experience by Mr. Knolle

Enthusiastic about this latest addition to Barney’s Farm collection, Mr. Knolle embarked on his own cultivation journey with two feminized seeds.

True to expectations, they germinated smoothly, sprouting into robust, evenly branched plants over 3.5 weeks. When the flowering phase was initiated, the two Mimosa Evos stood at 28 and 30 cm.

Early Resin Production and Unique Purple-Red Tint

Switching the light cycle from 18/6 to 12/12 elicited a swift response, with signs of female pre-flowering just six days later.

The pace of flowering remained swift, promising a profusion of blooms. At the five-week mark, the buds were already thickly dusted with frosty trichomes, offering an early hint of the copious resin production to come.

Moreover, as flowering continued, both foliage and shade leaves took on a unique purple-red tint, contrasting beautifully with the green calyxes. Stem elongation was roughly doubled during the first four weeks of flowering, resulting in plants reaching about 60 cm.

Exuberant Resin Production and an Aromatic Feast

As flowering progressed, the Mimosa Evo plants put on a show, with an explosion of resin production that painted the thickening buds a snowy white. This dramatic resin production, contrasted with the purple-red foliage, offered a truly stunning spectacle.

The aroma was equally impressive, exuding an intoxicating cocktail of orange, tangerine, grapefruit, and lemon. Upon harvest, the swollen buds were dense, heavily laden with resin, and the two Mimosa Evos ended up with final heights of 65 and 68 cm.

The Post-Harvest Experience – A Visual Feast

Post-drying and curing, the buds weighed in at a bountiful 77 and 82 grams. The visual appeal of these chunky, trichome-encrusted nuggets was undeniable, exhibiting an enchanting blueish hue.

The aroma was just as captivating – a jar full of these gems smelled like a tropical beach bar serving fresh, fizzy citrus cocktails.

A Dance of Flavors and a Burst of Euphoria

Upon rolling his first joint, Mr. Knolle was taken aback by the rich, fruity aroma, even before lighting it. The smoke was dense yet silky, as creamy as a coconut shake, and incredibly smooth on the palate. It delivered a vibrant, fresh, fruity orange flavor with a slight lemon twist – a taste profile he’d never experienced before with a cannabis strain.

The euphoric effect was just as overwhelming, engulfing him with a sense of elation, positive energy, and serenity. Invigorated, he went for a bike ride, enjoyed the splendors of spring, and reveled in a heightened sense of mental balance.

Final Verdict

In Mr. Knolle’s words, Mimosa Evo’s debut in his grow room was nothing short of sensational. Reading about a strain is one thing, but witnessing it exceed expectations is truly remarkable.

According to him, Mimosa Evo is a testament to Barney’s Farm’s incredible strain evolution. He eagerly awaits his next cultivation adventure with their strains.
