The extra 13mm across the lid is the whole argument for this size. A wider chamber takes more flower per load, and a wider lid gives more leverage on sticky buds, which is why this is the grinder that stays on the table rather than in a jacket.
When 63mm is the right size
A larger chamber means fewer loads, and a wider lid gives more leverage, so dense and sticky buds turn with less effort. It is too big for a pocket and heavier in a bag, which is the trade. If most of your grinding happens at a table, this is the size to own. For carrying, the 50mm grinder does the same job at a smaller scale.
Grinding for joints, bowls and vapes
Joints and cones burn most evenly with a medium grind that still has some structure, which is what ten or so turns gives. Bowls take a slightly coarser grind so the flower does not pull through the screen. Vaporizers want it fine, because more surface area heats evenly, so turn the lid longer or run the flower through twice.
The kief chamber over time
Every load drops a few trichomes through the mesh. A month of regular grinding leaves a layer worth using. Sprinkle it over a bowl, roll it into a joint, or save it until there is enough to press. Brush the screen gently when you collect, because a clogged screen stops the kief from falling through.
Care that keeps it turning
Take it apart every few weeks and brush the teeth and threads. Soak the metal parts in isopropyl alcohol when resin builds up, rinse with warm water, and let every piece dry before reassembling. Put it back together wet and the threads bind.
