Carbon filtering is old technology borrowed from water and air treatment. Push smoke through it and some of the heaviest, most bitter part of combustion sticks to the carbon instead of landing on your tongue.
Barney's Farm Impact Carbon Filter Tips — Activated Coconut Shell Carbon (10-Pack)
Burnt plant matter tastes bitter, and that bitterness sits on top of the terpenes you grew or paid for. Barney's Farm Impact tips pass the smoke through activated coconut shell carbon, which holds on to some of the tar and harsh compounds before they reach your mouth. The draw comes through cooler and the flavor of the strain comes through clearer.

About product
Carbon filtering is old technology borrowed from water and air treatment. Push smoke through it and some of the heaviest, most bitter part of combustion sticks to the carbon instead of landing on your tongue.
What activated carbon does
Activated carbon is charcoal treated to open up millions of tiny pores. That gives it a huge surface area, and compounds in smoke stick to it as they pass through, a process called adsorption. Coconut shell carbon has a fine pore structure, which is why it is a common material in water and air filters too.
Built for airflow
A filter that chokes the draw makes you pull harder and hotter, which defeats the point. Impact tips are packed for high flow, so the joint draws easily and burns evenly while the carbon does its work.
Rolling with an 8mm tip
At 8mm across and 35mm long, the tips suit standard and king size papers. Place the tip at the end of the paper before adding flower, roll around it, and keep the flower packed evenly along its length. Some smokers pinch the first few millimeters of paper around the tip for a tighter seal.
One tip per joint
Once smoke has passed through, the carbon pores are filling up. Use a fresh tip for each joint to keep the filtering consistent.
